The Crossroads of Dreams and Imagination

September 2017

Time spent with friends…

Spending time with good friends is always the best. Doesn’t matter what we are doing or where we are – we always have a great time! This week has been a week filled with friendship and fun. I’m so glad that we’ve been able to get together and make these memories. It’s true what they say – the memories will last a lifetime. And if we forget there are always the pictures to remind us.  ðŸ˜€

It’s a great day to be alive….

Love that song. Wish I could remember who sang it. I suppose I could look it up online but I don’t think that is going to help me get the tune out of my head. 🎶

This bag, that I found at Barnes and Noble a while ago, perfectly sums up my thought for the day. These four ladies are some of my favorite women and they are inspirational for such a variety of reasons but no matter why you like them they are women to be emulated!

Dreams and magic…

Who doesn’t want these two things in their life? This week some of my favorite dreams are coming true. These are the kinds of weeks that give me the motivation to make it through the rough patches. And they remind me that memories are more important than things. And spending time with great friends is always a way to inspire myself.

Love this picture….

Can’t you just feel the breeze?

It’s a beautiful spot and I can still feel the light breeze on my face. How can I not be inspired when I have such wonderful things to witness and enjoy?

I hope you all have a glorious day as well.

Happiness is…

What is happiness to you?

For me it’s:

  • Family
  • Friends
  • My furbabies

And today it is also random questions. For example “Why is a Raven like a Writing Desk?”. 😁 “Why does the smell of homemade grape jelly make me so hungry?” 🍇 “Why can’t I sleep when I have so much to do during the day?” 😴

So many what if questions in the world and I’m getting some great story ideas. That means it’s time to stop blogging and start writing. My fiction won’t write itself, that’s for sure.

Have a great day everyone.

Medal of Honor Concert

I found out last night that we have 46 Medal of Honor recipients here in town for the convention. Most of them were at the concert last night so we got to see them as they were introduced. It was awe inspiring to see these brave men and to understand the sacrifices that they have made.

Michael Thornton

I managed to take this picture when they were being introduced. The gentleman facing the camera is Medal of Honor recipient Michael Thornton.

Then Gary Sinise and the Lt. Dan Band took the stage. They were a ton of fun and it looked like the performers were having as much fun as the audience. I took a couple pictures but since my goal was to enjoy the concert not spend my time on my phone I only got a couple.

I’m not sure of the female singer’s name but I do love this song! It’s always been one of my favorites.

Very Superstitious

Overall, it was an amazing night filled with great friends and a celebration of men who are the epitome of inspiring!

Lessons learned…

Getting ready to see the Lt. Dan Band tonight. I’m hoping to be able to get some good pictures of the Medal of Honor recipients and the show. We will see how close the seats are and go from there. I’ll post more about the show tomorrow, I’m sure. 😁

In the meantime, it’s been a lazy day. I didn’t get much done but I had some fun playing with Eros. It’s funny – in the past I might have felt guilty about taking the day to just relax and enjoy time with my puppy. Hell, just doing nothing would have made me feel guilty because my To Do list would have been beating a discordant rhythm in my head all day. One more good thing that has come out of being unemployed – I’m learning to not let my To Do list be the death of me.

It’s a lesson I am sure that I will need to remember. But I’m learning that life is not meant to be busy all the time. Life is not supposed to be just an endless list of doing things. And it’s not meant to be just about work and work and work. Life should be enjoyed and that is harder to do when you never notice what is going on around you. I’m guilty of paying more attention to what I think I need to be doing then to what is happening around me – and who knows what I’ve missed because of that.

But it’s all in the past. Today is a new day. It is a great day. And I refuse to regret what I did in the past. I’m learning from those challenges and decisions and making different choices now. What more can I ask of myself than that?

One more day until the Lt. Dan Band

I’m so excited. It promises to be an amazing show. And I can’t wait to see it!

For today I thought I’d share a picture of my favorite puppy, Eros.

He’s currently waiting patiently – impatiently – for me so we can go on a walk. So, I’m going to head out and enjoy the evening air. Enjoy the evening my friends and make sure that you do something fun and inspiring that makes your ❤️happy.

Another day of ups and downs…

What can I say….My life is a roller coaster right now. But it’s not boring!

Lots going on this week with the Medal of Honor Convention here in town.

I’m super excited to see Gary Sinise and the Lt Dan Band on Thursday.

It’s going to be amazing!

Before that I have more job hunting and lots of things on my To Do list. I have to keep reminding myself to take it one step, one project, one moment at a time. That’s the only way to get past the lows and climb to the heights once again.

I can do it. I know I can.

But I might need a reminder once in a while. 😜
