The Crossroads of Dreams and Imagination

Author

Hi everyone! I'm Willi and welcome to my page. This is the place where my imagination and reality collide. I've been absent for a while but am making some changes in my life, and this is just one of them. Join me on my journey to chase down my dreams. I don't know exactly where the adventure will take us but the more the merrier. Along the way I plan to explore the lush jungles of Creativity; the rarely visited library of Organization; the magic castle of Fantasy; the waterfall of Quotes; the labyrinth of Managing Money, the table of Yumminess, and the garden o Inspiration. I hope to see all of you there! Until next time, my fearless travel companions, enjoy the magic and wonder that appears in your day.

Pride & Patriotism event

Tonight I went with Dad to the local Pride and Patriotism event out on by Pueblo City Schools.

The kids from kindergarten to seniors in high school did an amazing job. There were choir and band performances as well as the winners of the writing contest being honored for their wonderful essays. We heard from a Brigadier General of the Air Force and saw some video from the Medal of Honor Convention that was held in September. I’m proud to say that there were lots of people in attendance, including many veterans. It was a fantastic night and I was grateful that I got to attend.

Great art completed by collaboration amongst the Pueblo City Schools.

Dancing…Let’s all go dancing

Not sure where the idea to dance came from because I’m so tired I’m sure I don’t have the energy to dance. But I’d love to be sitting on the beach watching the waves dance on the shore. That would be amazing. Difficult to achieve since I’m in a land-locked state but I’d love it if I could be there now.

Since I’m not I suppose I’ll just listen to some audio of the ocean waves crashing and get some writing done. That is where my focus needs to be tonight because I can feel my creative Genie tapping on my shoulder impatiently. So I’m off to put more words on the page within the world I’ve created. Have an amazing night my friends.

Hard to believe I took this picture from the window of a train as we traveled north from San Diego.

Grateful for so many things…

It’s been a long day but it was a good one. I’m so grateful to have so many blessings in my life. I cannot begin to count them all but I’m working on it. 🙂

How do you count your blessings? One by one? Or by group? For me, it tends to depend on what I’m thinking about and the message I get from counting my blessings changes every day. But I have found that spending time at the end of my day has become a great way to wind down and meditate. It allows me to quiet my mind and heart which helps me to sleep, sometimes!

I hope that as you get ready to dream tonight you take a moment to count all the wonderful blessings in your life. If my life is an example, there will be more than you can believe possible. And I hope that your blessings always and forever outnumber your troubles.

Loved the décor at Be Our Guest restaurant when we were there this Sept.

Time change….Already?

I’m so not ready for the time change. Although, at least we are “Falling Back” so I might get a little more sleep tonight. And who doesn’t like more sleep?

Otherwise I’m enjoying the warm weather we are having – 70’s in November is not normal for Colorado but I’m loving it! I am not ready for winter snow and I know it will be here before I’m ready.

Have you ever noticed how fast time flies when we aren’t paying attention? It seems like yesterday was May but here we are in November. Time to start getting ready for the holidays. I know my niece and nephew are starting to think about their Christmas lists and I guess that means I’d better start working on the Christmas presents I’m making for the holiday. I’m a bit behind in the crafting department but I’ll get caught up…I have to!

Friday night and no plans….

I love it! I’m home from work, it was a beautiful day, and I don’t have any plans for the night. Well, no plans outside my house. I’m so thankful to be able to put my feet up, read a good book, and spend time playing with my puppy. I’m so lucky to have a warm place to sleep and food on the table. And tonight my inspiration comes from these simple and yet powerful things. The things that say “Home” to me. And the opportunity to have those things around me every day.

Took this picture on Halloween at the Trunk or Treat event from my church. Just love the colors of the sunset that night.

Habits…

Well, I lost track of my 365 Days of Inspiration posts when I went on vacation. I desperately needed the vacation and had a wonderful time, but prior to leaving I had this crazy thought that I would keep the posts going while I was on vacation. Then I thought, “No sweat – I’ll pick it up when I get home.” Right. Here we are on the second day of November and I’m finally getting back to it. Time to build my writing habit back to a winning streak once more!

I read somewhere that it takes 21 days to form a new habit. I don’t remember where I read it or who decided on that number but I like it. It is a challenge but not one that seems insurmountable. I can do anything if I take small steps toward it every day and this is today’s step. Someday those steps will add up to a masterpiece, a dance, a canvas of my life and the choices I’ve made. And when I look back I want to see movement. Maybe only teeny, tiny, tippy-toe steps but I don’t want to be stagnant. I have let my brain get in the way of action in the past and I don’t intend to let that happen going forward. New habits, or should I say, the renewing of a previous habit will keep my momentum building.

Here’s to building new habits and enjoying the changing of the seasons with the people who mean the most to us.

Time spent with friends…

Spending time with good friends is always the best. Doesn’t matter what we are doing or where we are – we always have a great time! This week has been a week filled with friendship and fun. I’m so glad that we’ve been able to get together and make these memories. It’s true what they say – the memories will last a lifetime. And if we forget there are always the pictures to remind us.  😀

It’s a great day to be alive….

Love that song. Wish I could remember who sang it. I suppose I could look it up online but I don’t think that is going to help me get the tune out of my head. 🎶

This bag, that I found at Barnes and Noble a while ago, perfectly sums up my thought for the day. These four ladies are some of my favorite women and they are inspirational for such a variety of reasons but no matter why you like them they are women to be emulated!

Dreams and magic…

Who doesn’t want these two things in their life? This week some of my favorite dreams are coming true. These are the kinds of weeks that give me the motivation to make it through the rough patches. And they remind me that memories are more important than things. And spending time with great friends is always a way to inspire myself.
